BOOK DESCRIPTION

Would you defend your husband if he was accused of killing his mistress? Sarah Morgan is a successful and powerful defense attorney in Washington D.C. At 33 years old, she is a named partner at her firm and life is going exactly how she planned. The same cannot be said for her husband Adam. He is a struggling writer who has had little success in his career. He begins to tire of his and Sarah's relationship as she is constantly working. Out in secluded woods, at Adam and Sarah's second home, Adam engages in a passionate affair with Kelly Summers. Then, one morning everything changes. Adam is arrested for Kelly's murder. She had been found stabbed to death in Adam and Sarah's second home. Sarah soon finds herself playing defender for her own husband, a man accused of murdering his mistress. But is Adam guilty or is he innocent?

REVIEW

I really enjoyed this book; it was easy to read with the chapters being short (an average of 1-5 pages). You might think that with chapters that short you wouldn’t get stuck into the book like you would with 10-20 page chapters, but you were able to see what each person was thinking at the same time. For example: (After Adam is arrested, he makes his one phone call, and the next chapter is Sarah's reaction to finding out her husband is in jail.) The author cleverly made the chapters switch between Sarah and Adam, making it more enticing to read the next chapter to see how they react to what the other has done.

The author was able to cleverly drop subtle hints throughout the book that you will most likely miss the first time reading it, but it makes it a book that you will be able to happily read multiple times just to see if you can catch the hints.

I personally did not see the twist at the end and found it was a good end to the book. Is it the most factually correct book? No, but that’s not why I picked it up.

sounds intriguing!! Love the bit about not picking it up because it’s accurate to the crime :p

Looking forward to your next review :)
